Police Activities League/AYSO Opening Soccer Ceremonies

WHEN:
Saturday, September 15, 2007 10:00 a.m.

WHERE:
Salesian High School
960 S. Soto Street
Los Angeles, California 90023

WHO:
Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard
Councilman Jose Huizar
Los Angeles Police Department, Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell

WHY:
LAPD Hollenbeck Police Activities League (PAL)/AYSO Region 1304 will be hosting its Opening Ceremonies. Hollenbeck PAL began the AYSO in 1998 to provide alternative constructive activities for the youth of Boyle Heights.

The league collaborates with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks to provide our youth the ultimate soccer experience. This intercommunity and governmental partnership has enabled the league to expand its membership from 110 to 550 kids, ages 4 –18. The 2007 season will run from September through December with the All-Star selections in December.

Councilmember Jose Huizar has advocated for increased physical activity and has been working hard to increase the availability of safe recreational facilities in Boyle Heights and throughout the 14th District.

For information regarding registration or volunteering please call 323-269-4978.
