Driver Involved in Fatal Traffic Collision Arrested
San Fernando Valley: An 18-year-old man involved in a fatal traffic collision last December was arrested yesterday for Misdemeanor Vehicular Manslaughter.
On December 12, 2006, at 8:45 a.m., a traffic collision occurred at La Tuna Canyon Road east of Elben Avenue. The suspect's car, a 2006 Jeep Larado, drove on the wrong side of the roadway and collided with the driver's side front end of the victim's 1999 Saturn sedan. The collision caused the victim's car to rotate counterclockwise and collide with the curb.
Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim, Michelle Wincentsen, a Montrose resident dead at scene.
On September 19, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., the suspect, whose identity is being withheld due to being a minor at the time of the incident, was arrested for Misdemeanor Vehicular Manslaughter.
