Two Arrested for Party Murder

Los Angeles: Two men were arrested Sunday for the shooting death of a man at a party.

On September 23, 2007, around 12:00 a.m., Javier Robles, 23, of Hawthorne, arrived with friends at a party at the 1900 block of Carmona Avenue.

While he was in the backyard of the residence, an argument started among Robles and several other individuals. Suddenly several gunshots were fired and Robles, along with at least three other guests, were struck.

Robles died of his injuries at the scene. Paramedics rushed the three remaining victims to local hospitals in stable condition.

Michael Gudiel, 22 and Henry Rodriguez, 22, both of Los Angeles, were ultimately arrested and booked at Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division.

The motive of the crime appears to be gang related.

Wilshire Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detectives Shafia or Arellano at 213-473-0446, during normal business hours. After hours and on weekends, please phone the 24-hour Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAW-FULL (529-3855).
