Suspect May Be Responsible for Series of Westside Burglaries Shown Video NR11070rf

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department West Los Angeles Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect whom they believe is responsible for a series of burglaries.

In an area of West Los Angeles near the border of the city of Santa Monica, numerous residents have been subjected to burglaries since early October of last year.  Most of the burglaries have targeted storage units in parking structures, although detectives believe the same suspect is also responsible for several grand thefts, stealing property from parked vehicles and various petty theft crimes.

At one of the more recent incidents, a suspect was seen entering an underground parking structure where his image was captured on camera by a security surveillance system.  The suspect appears to be a 25- to 30-year-old white or Hispanic male.  He has short, dark hair, weighs 160 to 190 pounds and stands between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall.

Anyone with questions or information about this suspect or series of crimes is urged to call West Los Angeles Detective Bowens at 310-444-1524 or 310-444-1522.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 213-978-6500 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
