PRESS RELEASE
Friday, March 3, 2000

"Local School Receives Donation"

Los Angeles - On Monday, March 6, 2000 at 11:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Division will hold a press conference at San Miguel School, 2270 East 108th Street. The purpose of the press conference is to present a private catholic institution, San Miguel School, with a check for $100,000.00. The school will use that money to build and furnish two additional classrooms on the campus.

Currently, students of the Kindergarten and 1st Grade are holding classes on the floor of the school hall. Southeast Area formed a partnership with San Miguel School and their former Pastoral Agent (Sister Maria) has been featured in the local media.

Southeast Area Community Relations Office secured the funds through a private foundation located in Orange County, California. The donor of the money wishes to remain anonymous. Employees from Southeast Area who will be present are Captain Richard Bonneau, Captain Charlie Beck, Sergeant Jeffery Hamilton, Sergeant Ted Malliet, Sergeant Michael Hargreaves and Senior Lead Officer Randy Goens.
