"Man Killed in Drive-By Shooting in Harbor Area"

Harbor City: On Saturday, September 2, 2000, at approximately 4:10 am, two 19 year old male adults were walking southbound on Frampton Avenue at 253rd Street. An unknown type vehicle pulled up next to the two men and an unknown suspect fired numerous rounds at them. Only one individual was struck by the gunfire, and the suspects fled the area.

The injured victim was transported to Harbor/UCLA Hospital for treatment. The victim failed to respond and was pronounced dead at 4:20 pm. The victim has been identified as Miguel Angel Ruiz, 19 years of age, and a resident of Harbor City.

The suspects and murder weapon are still being sought and no motive has been established. The investigation is being conducted by Harbor Area Homicide Detectives who can be reached at 310-548-7621.
