"Shooting Suspect Arrested for Murder"

San Pedro: On Sunday, September 10, 2000, at 11:35 p.m., the victim and suspect became involved in a dispute over a female acquaintance. This dispute occurred at the apartments located in the 3600 block of Stephen White Drive, San Pedro. During the dispute, the suspect shot the victim with a .22 Caliber rifle. The victim collapsed and died at the scene. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody, and the weapon was recovered.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and was only described as a male White, 44 years of age.

The suspect, Michael Schwartz, male White, 36 years of age, was transported to Harbor Jail and was booked for murder.

The follow-up investigation is ongoing by Harbor Area Homicide Detectives.
