Gang Shooting Kills One, Injures Another

Los Angeles: One man died and one was injured during what detectives believe was a gang related shooting yesterday evening in South Los Angeles.

At around 10:10 p.m., Chris Taylor, 19, and Orlando Iles, 17, were standing in the street in the 3600 block of South 7th Avenue, when a light colored 4-door vehicle driving south on 7th Avenue pulled alongside of them and stopped. A gunman inside the vehicle, pointed a gun out the window, and open fired on Taylor and Iles.

Paramedics rushed both victims to a local hospital. Taylor died of his injuries and Iles is listed in stable condition.

Police described the suspects as 4-5 male Blacks. The suspects and the weapon are still outstanding.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call South Bureau Homicide Detectives, Rick Gordon or Brian Callichia at 213-485-1383. On off hours, weekends, and holidays call the toll free number 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
