LAPD Hosts Second Annual Youth Leadership Day

Nearly 1,000 teens and law enforcement management officials

Why:
The Department is hosting its 2nd Annual "Youth Leadership Day."  The goal of this special day is to provide student members of our youth programs an opportunity to spend an entire day as a partner with the LAPD leadership team that includes all Chief officers, Commanders, Captains, Lieutenants and Senior Lead Officers and to reward them for their commitment and service to the community.

This year’s Youth Leadership Day will commence with an assembly at the University of Southern California, Lyon Center Gymnasium for a continental breakfast.  The day will start with a message from the Chief of Police to the students about the importance of their commitment and of them being the next generation of leaders.  

The remainder of the day will be spent visiting and/or viewing displays that include:

Ahmanson Mounted Unit Facility
K-9 Unit Demonstration
Air Support Division
Bomb Squad
Mobile One Command Post vehicle
Special Weapons & Tactics equipment and vehicles
Police Historical Society Museum
Dive Team apparatus
Los Angeles Regional Crime Lab
Dodger Stadium
L. A. City Traffic Center
Coroner’s Office
