South Los Angeles Man Killed in Courtyard

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department Criminal Gang Homicide Group, Southeast Squad Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who was involved in the killing of a 35-year-old man, early this morning.

On April 24, at around 4:20 a.m., 35-year-old Ramond Juan Allen Sr., was walking inside the Jordan Downs Housing Development when he was approached by an unknown male Black suspect.  The suspect fired multiple times and Allen was struck by gunfire.  Allen fell to the ground in the courtyard area near the 2030 block East 101st Street.  The suspect then entered a white sedan and left the scene southbound on Grape Street from 102nd Street.
 
Allen was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.  According to detectives the motive is believed to be gang related.  The suspect, vehicle and weapon remain outstanding.
