Missing Person Loyd Beasley NR10364kr

Update: 

On July 23, 2010, a Caltrans worker discovered Beasely’s body in a river near Rio Vista Avenue and Olympic Boulevard.  His death has been ruled undetermined.


Los Angeles:
   Fifty-six-year-old Loyd Beasley has been missing for 12 days, and his family and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) are asking for the public’s help to find him.

On Sunday, July 4, 2010, at around 7:30 p.m., Beasley was last seen near his vehicle at the corner of
70th Street and Vermont Street.  A witness reported seeing his car the next day, but neither of them have been seen since.  Beasley is homeless and had been living in his car described as a 1993 GMC Sports Utility Vehicle.

Beasley is described as a male Black with black and gray hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing about 140 pounds.  

Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Loyd Beasley is asked to contact  LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit Detective Merrill at 213-996-1800.   During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
