Two 16-year-olds Hit by Gunfire One Injured, One Killed NR10539kr

Los Angeles:  Two friends walking in the 700 block of Gardena Boulevard in the mid morning hours on Sunday were hit by gunfire, leaving one dead and one injured.

On November 14, 2010, at around 11 a.m., Jose Davalos a resident of Los Angeles and a friend were walking down the street when a mid-size sedan driving eastbound came up behind the pair and began firing at them.  Davalos was shot in the head and transported by Los Angeles City Fire personnel to a local hospital in critical condition.  He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Davalos’ friend was transported to a local hospital by a private car, prior to the arrival of police and fire personnel. He had been shot in the leg and was treated for his injuries and later released.

The motive for this incident is believed to be gang related.
