Missing College Student NR11094bb

Los Angeles:  The family of Cristian Sanchez and the Los Angeles Police Department requests the public’s assistance in helping to find him.

On January 17, 2011, Sanchez was last seen by his family in the 8000 block of Cimarron Street in the City of Los Angeles.  Sanchez had contact with the Oceanside Police Department on January 24, 2011, and was possibly heading to San Diego.  Sanchez’s family believes he may have returned to the Los Angeles area since that time period.

Sanchez is a college student and has not returned to school.  He has not contacted his friends or family.  Sanchez has never gone missing before and his family is very concerned.  He does not have any identification with him and may be in need of medical assistance.

Sanchez is a 20- year-old Hispanic male, with black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs about 120 pounds.  A photo of Sanchez is attached to the second page of this news release.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sanchez is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department, Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
