Stabbing in Torrance Leaves One Man Dead NR11469cj

Los Angeles: On October 8, 2011, at around 4:45 p.m., LAPD Harbor Area patrol officers received a stabbing call at a market place in the 20300 block of South Harvard Road in Torrance.  When they arrived, they saw a man on the ground suffering from stab wounds.  LAFD rescue personnel responded and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives say that the victim, identified as 35-year-old Jesus Martinez of Torrance, became involved in a physical dispute with an unidentified male inside at the marketplace.  When the dispute turned physical the suspect stabbed Martinez and left the scene southbound on foot.
