Los Angeles School Police Department Traffic Enforcement Officers.

Why:
To emphasize rail safety tips for all motorists and pedestrians in anticipation of the Expo Line light-rail grand opening on April 28, 2012.  South Traffic Division’s Motor Vehicle and Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Operation will be conducted in an effort to promote pedestrian safety at rail crossings and to improve driver awareness.  Students, parents and the general public need to be aware of the dangers the train poses, especially in school zones.  Traffic enforcement officers will ensure motorists and pedestrians, including students, adhere to posted signage and yield the right of way to the train.  The message is     simple: Yield the right of way to the train and obey all posted traffic signs!
