Man Attempts to Kidnap 11-Year-Old Girl NR13273gb

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Area Detectives are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of an attempt kidnapping in the Wilmington area.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2013, around 9 a.m., the male suspect followed the victim from the area of Avalon Boulevard and L Street.  When the victim reached the 1100 block of Marine Avenue, the suspect surprised the victim from behind and attempted to forcibly place the eleven year old victim into the trunk of his vehicle.  The victim fought back, broke free and the suspect fled the area.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, about 50 years old with gray/black hair. He stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.  The suspect is believed to be driving a possible late 80’s to early 90’s 2-door white import vehicle. The vehicle has black bumpers, a faded hood and possible damage to the passenger side fender.
