Bicyclist Killed in Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR17233dm

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit and run.

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, around 2:30 a.m., Southeast Division officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian radio call. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim had been riding a bicycle. A possible late model, dark colored Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was travelling in an unknown direction on Broadway Street. The driver collided with a bicyclist travelling east across northbound lanes of Broadway Street at 87th Place. The driver failed to stop, identify him or herself, or render aid to the bicyclist.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The suspect is described as a “heavy set” male Black. South Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
