The LAPD Bomb Squad rendered the package safe and the LAPD is now handing the investigation over to the FBI.

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a suspicious package discovered at the United States Postal Service, Los Angeles Central Mail facility.

On October 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department received a call of a suspicious package in the 7000 block of South Central Avenue in Los Angeles.

While we attempt to determine its contents and origins, the facility is being evacuated.

We are working closely with our federal law enforcement partners given the number of suspicious devices discovered across the nation.
