Hit and Run Fatal Involving a Pedestrian NR18277gk

Los Angeles: Detectives from the
Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division are asking
for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead
to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit
and run collision.

On October 26, 2018, around 6:58 p.m., a hit and run traffic
collision occurred on West Adams Boulevard at the intersection of
Burnside Avenue. The victim was crossing West Adams Boulevard,
walking south, when he was struck by the suspect’s vehicle
travelling east on Adams Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and identify or render aid
to the victim.

After the pedestrian was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, he was
struck again by a second vehicle going east on Adams Boulevard. The
second driver stayed at the scene of the collision and cooperated
with the investigation.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the victim
to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The hit and run vehicle is described as a medium to full size
sedan.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles
Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust
Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members
who provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil
compromise.
