Lenrey Briones

Detectives from the LAPD Newton Division, have provided a most recent photo of Lenrey Briones, and are seeking additional victims of a crime.

Briones was charged with 10 counts, 7 counts of aggravated Mayhem, 2 counts of attempted aggravated Mayhem, and 1 attempt Robbery.

April 2, 2019 Update

 

Detectives have provided a new photo of the same make and type of bicycle but not actual.

Newton: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Area are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect responsible for slashing victims as he rode his bicycle.

On Monday, April 1st, 2019, at around 8:40 a.m., Newton Area patrol officers responded to a radio call near Florence Avenue and Avalon Boulevard in South Los Angeles.

Upon their arrival, officers located a male suffering from an edged weapon wound to the left side of his face. Preliminary investigation determined the victim was standing on the sidewalk near the bus stop.

The unknown suspect approached the victim on his bicycle and slashed at the victim as he rode past him with an unknown type edged weapon causing severe injury to his face. The suspect continued riding northbound Avalon Boulevard.

A second radio call was generated shortly thereafter at approximately 8:55 a.m., near 59th Place and Avalon Boulevard. The victim reported that a male suspect on a bicycle slashed her face with an unknown object as he rode past her, causing severe injury to the left side of her face and ear.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victims to local area hospitals. They are expected to survive.

On March 20, 2019 at around 7:30 a.m., a suspect rode past a male victim on a bicycle and slashed his face with an unknown type edged weapon causing severe injury as he stood at the corner of 59th Street and Avalon Blvd.

On March 27, 2019 at around11:09 a.m. South Gate Police Department also had a similar incident involving a male Hispanic suspect slash a victim’s face with an edged weapon causing severe injury while riding past the victim on his bicycle.

The suspect is described as a Male Hispanic, 18-30 years old with short hair, about 5’06” to 5′ 08″ and weighing about 150 lbs. The suspect was wearing a dark colored t-shirt and dark pants. The suspect was last seen riding a black and green mountain bike, westbound Slauson Avenue from Main Street.
