Special Enforcement Week - Roving Child Passenger Seat Checkpoint

The Los Angeles Police Department, South Traffic Division, will be conducting a roving child passenger seat checkpoint on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This checkpoint is to promote traffic safety in southern Los Angeles.  Our purpose is to spread the knowledge of traffic safety where we live and work.  Law enforcement agencies all over Los Angeles County will be participating in this National Child Passenger check up week, April 11th to 15th.  We will be on the watch for children under the age of 16 years who are not properly restrained and to “educate” the responsible parent (or driver, if the parent is not present) with an appropriate citation.  Our goal of the checkpoint is to identify misuse, recalled seats, replace damaged seats and “educate” the parent on the importance of properly installing a child restraint system.

For additional information, please call Officer Bridgette Peterson at 213-485-7336 or via e-mail at 33628@LAPD.LACITY.ORG.
