South Traffic Division Civilian Employee Of The Year Management Aide Sonya Grayson
Management Aide Sonya Grayson, Serial No. G8705, has been selected as the “Civilian Employee of the Year”. Ms. Grayson is selected for this honor in recognition of her significant accomplishments in support of the organizational goals of South Traffic Division (STD) and the Los Angeles Police Department. As the CAD Coordinator, Teams II Coordinator and Risk Management Coordinator, she performs a variety of assignments.
Ms. Grayson’s work in CAD requires her to research, compile, analyze and interpret data and present traffic activity trends and patterns. She provides information to assist patrol/traffic enforcement and investigative staff in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention, intervention and suppression of traffic collisions. She ensures CAD compliance with standardized procedures, directives and in accordance to DOJ & LAPD policies and procedures.
She implemented the supervisor’s COMPSTAT book for the purpose of intelligence sharing. She created and organized the CAD Filing System, computerized a Daily Work Product Log within CAD, created and distributed a Divisional “End of the Year Summary” Power Point Presentation, prepares K-Analysis Documents and posts Officer Safety Bulletins. In addition, she has compiled and presented a request to COMPSTAT, TEAMS II & R&I to enhance computer databases, add fields, change documents & file sharing for the purpose of bringing uniformity among the Traffic Divisions, decrease Divisional workload, meet COMPSTAT requirements and place Traffic Divisions on an even playing field with geographical divisions.
Sonya is a graduate of Williamson High School in Mobile, Alabama where she was a member of the Marching Band, Softball Team, Volley Ball Team, Dance Company Choreographer, State and National Piano Guild and ran track in a local city league. Sonya is a graduate of Long Beach City College and Charles R. Drew University of Science and Medicine (Suma Cum Laude). She was listed in “Who’s Who College Students in America” and “2000 Notable American Women” and nominated for “The World’s Who’s Who of Women” and “International Woman of the Year”. She is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve where she achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Ms. Grayson is a dedicated, diligent and dependable employee. She is professional, mission focused, task oriented and exhibits great work ethics.
