Clerk Typist Carolyn Rivers, Serial No. N1683, has been selected as the “Civilian Employee of the Year”. Ms. Rivers was selected for this honor in recognition of her support of the organizational goals and mission of South Traffic Division (STD) and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Ms. Rivers is an 11 year seasoned employee. She began her career in the Department of Animal Regulations, transferred to Central Traffic Division and then to South Traffic Division. She has developed a reputation as a reliable, hardworking, dependable employee who is willing to work a variety of assignments to ensure that the operational goals of STD are met. Currently, she is assigned to the Administrative Office where she performs the duties of the supply/mail clerk and receptionist. Her duties include, but are not limited to, ordering supplies, processing sick & IOD documents, maintaining the employee database and generating various employee rosters, citation cancellations, inputting commendations into DECS, sorting/distribution of mail, filing, processing 1.20’s and 1.38’s. In addition to her regular duties she is also the backup timekeeper and assists with a variety of timekeeping duties, such as entering overtime and deduct slips into the OLOTS systems, monitoring officer’s work hours each deployment period to ensure proper payment of funds, weekly recap, Summary of Overtime Report, collection approvals, 160 report, missing time report, timesheet verification, check verification, 2.30 corrections, printing timesheets, field bonus roster. During a shortage of personnel she did not hesitate to assist the CAD unit with data entry duties. Carolyn is a true example of a “Team Player”.
Carolyn has distinguishing herself by exceptional meritorious service while assigned to STD. Her sound judgment, integrity, tenacity of purpose, strong work ethic and exemplary personal conduct have won the respect of all associated with her. Her professional competence and outstanding accomplishments reflect great credit upon herself, South Traffic Division, Los Angeles Police Department and the City of Los Angeles.
