Collision Investigator Officer of the Year - Police Officer II Michael McMahon, Serial Number 39291

South Traffic Division is proud to announce that Police Officer II Michael McMahon, Serial No. 39291, has been chosen as Collision Investigator of the year for 2011.  Throughout the year, McMahon has been a dedicated team member to support and assist the officers and staff of South Traffic Division.

Michael McMahon is a diligent collision investigator who can be counted on to complete thorough, accurate and detailed investigations.  His investigations are often vital components in successful prosecutions for driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, or other traffic offenses.  They often also become cornerstone documents in subsequent civil proceedings as well.  He is noted for consistently high quality work, receiving regular positive feedback from STD Detectives thanking him for his thoroughness and attention to detail.

Michael McMahon has been assigned to South Traffic Division since September 2009 and received awards from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in 2010 and 2011.  In 2011, he received a “Deuce” Award from MADD, credited with 65 DUI arrests, a notable accomplishment for a collision investigator.  This is a reflection of his commitment to remove drunk drivers from the streets of South Bureau’s communities.  His efforts undoubtedly contributed to the decline of “A” and “K” injury traffic collisions in South Bureau for 2011.

Michael McMahon’s reputation as a knowledgeable, skilled, and reliable employee has been recognized by his immediate supervisors and watch commanders, having received a dozen positive comment cards and numerous commendations in 2011, reflecting STD supervision’s appreciation of his efforts.  Because of the positive reputation of McMahon’s skills, he is frequently called upon to handle difficult investigations that require elevated attention to detail.  These assignments also demand a high level of integrity, competency, enthusiasm, and commitment; all traits Michael McMahon possesses in abundance.  He is known for continually exhibiting a willingness to put in an extra effort to lead and to motivate his peers.

A transplant from Quincy, Massachusetts, Michael McMahon is an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins (too bad about that Patriots thing, Mike).  He also defiantly retains a Quincy-area cell phone number while now residing in the South Bay.  In spite of these liabilities, South Traffic Division acknowledges Officer McMahon’s accomplishments and congratulates him for being chosen as South Traffic Division’s 2011 Collision Investigator of the year.
