Suspect Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Los Angeles: Los Angeles police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect who killed a man and critically injured a woman Friday evening in South Los Angeles.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., a man driving a white Chevy Tahoe east on 112th Street near Wilmington Avenue, struck two pedestrians crossing the street. The driver drove away without rendering aid and identifying himself authorities said.

Paramedics rushed a 44-year-old female to Saint Francis Hospital. The male victim, whose name has not been released, died instantly at the scene of the crash.

Investigators have few leads. Witnesses were unable to identify the driver or recognize the vehicle's license plate.

Police described the suspect's vehicle as a white Chevy Tahoe with 24" chrome wheels. The SUV had a brown stripe along the sides and Chevy decals on both the driver and passenger door.
