Man Shot While Standing in the Street NR09282SF

Los Angeles:  A 24-year-old man was killed Tuesday in South Los Angeles after being shot multiple times while standing in the street.

According to detectives, Gasper Plummer was standing in the street in the 2200 block of South Harvard Boulevard at around 9:30 p.m. when a suspect opened fire on him.  The shooter fled the area immediately.  It was not clear if the suspect was on foot or in a getaway car.

Plummer was struck in the head and died at the scene.

An unidentified person heard the gunshots and called 911, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Investigators have few leads and there is no suspect description.  The motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

Anyone with information regarding this murder is urged to call Southwest Homicide Detectives at 213-485-1383.  During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247).  Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on web tips.  When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.”  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
