"Drive-By Shooting Results in Homicide"

Korea Town: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a twenty-two year old male Hispanic.

On Friday morning, November 17, 2000, at approximately 4:50 a.m., Rampart patrol officers responded to a radio call "Shots Fired, Ambulance Enroute" at 411 South Mariposa Avenue. Upon their arrival at the location the officers found the victim down on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed witnesses heard multiple gunshots and observed a vehicle drive away from the location.

The motive for this shooting appears to be drug related. The suspect, weapon and vehicle are outstanding. The victim has not been identified at this time.
