Possible Domestic Violence Leads To Homicide

Los Angeles: On Sunday, September 7, 2003 during the early morning hours, Southwest Area patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of West 39th Street officers, along with city paramedics, observed the victim lying on the sidewalk, the apparent victim of a beating. Paramedics examined and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Southwest Area Homicide Detectives have assumed the investigative responsibility for the investigation. Preliminary information indicates domestic violence may be the motive for this crime. The suspect is described only as a male Hispanic, no further information is available at this time. The victim has been identified as Laura L. Espinoza, a 33 year old female Hispanic and a resident of Los Angeles.
