$25,000 Reward for Murder Suspect

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Friday, September 29, 2000

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Southwest Area will be conducting a press conference on Monday, October 2, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in front of Southwest Station, 1546 West Martin Luther King Boulevard, Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Mr. Larry Horns, 40 years of age, was walking in the 3900 block of Dalton Avenue. An unidentified suspect drove up in what has been described as an older model Nissan 300 ZX, Red in color and stopped. The suspect described only as a male Black exited from the vehicle and began to argue with Mr. Horns. The suspect then drew a handgun and shot Mr. Horns. The suspect returned to his vehicle and fled from the scene. Mr. Horns succumbed to his wound at the scene.

The City of Los Angeles is offering a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for this incident.

Detective Don Richards, Southwest Division Homicide Coordinator, and family members will be present during the press conference.
