Man Shot While Walking

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives are investigating the shooting death of 23-year-old Ronald Jerome Buckner, a Los Angeles resident.

On Monday, March 2, 2009, at 8:55 p.m., Buckner was walking in the 3100 block of West 59th Street, when a red Dodge Charger with an unknown number of male Hispanics drove by and shot Buckner multiple times.  Buckner was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is believed to be gang related.

Criminal Gang Homicide Group Detectives R. Guzman and M. Kellum are assigned to the investigation.  If anyone has any information regarding the murder, they can be reached at 213-485-1383.  After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247) or by texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with the letters LAPD.  Tipsters may also submit information on the LAPD website:  www.lapdonline.org.  All tips may remain anonymous.
