Mr. Diaz was found on May, 20, 2009 at around 1 p.m. near Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in good condition by his nephew.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department and the family of Basilio Diaz are asking for the public's help in locating him.
On Monday, May 18, 2009, at around 8:00 a.m., Basilio and his wife boarded the #754 Bus at Vermont Avenue and Adams Boulevard. At Vermont Avenue and 11th Street Mrs. Diaz exited the bus, believing that her husband was right behind her. Basilio, however, did not get off the bus. Mrs. Diaz went looking for her husband at the next stop near Vermont Avenue and Olympic Boulevard. Witnesses there said they saw Basilio exit the bus and walk away. A family friend spotted Basilio at about 3:00 p.m. near Rimpau Boulevard and Pico Boulevard, but did not realize he was lost.
Basilio is a 67-year-old Hispanic man, with black hair, brown eyes, 5 ft. tall, 155 lbs., dark complexion, and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a blue LA Dodger hat, a plaid shirt and blue jeans.
Basilio suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and requires medication. He does not speak English and only speaks a specific dialect of Spanish.
