Scholarship Awards Presentation in Memory of Fallen LAPD Officer
Monterey Park: The Hispanic American Police Command Officer Association’s (HAPCOA) announced the winners of the 2009 Fallen Officer Scholarship Award.
This year the “HOPCOA Fallen Officer Scholarship” will be presented in memory of fallen LAPD officer Filbert Henry Cuesta, who died in the line of duty on August 9, 1998. Each year HAPCOA supports our youth by awarding scholarships to deserving candidates. HAPCOA’s goal is to reach out to our youth, primarily those in our law enforcement communities, and encourage and promote the importance of pursuing a higher education.
The Hispanic American Police Command Officer Association’s (HAPCOA) mission is to empower the future of law enforcement by assisting law enforcement, criminal justice and community organizations nationwide in their efforts to recruit, train and promote qualified Hispanic American men and women. This event also promotes Hispanics in law enforcement, and serves as an advocate for Hispanic law enforcement issues.
