WHY: During the months of April and May 2016, all 61 Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Forces across the nation, launched “Operation Broken Heart III”. The Los Angeles Regional ICAC’s operation resulted in the arrest of over 238 child predators. Investigators will outline the operation and provide information as to their individual roles in the operation. There will be a mobile lab on display, which is maintained by ICAC- LAPD. It is used for on-site examination of digital devices use for the production, distribution and possession of child pornography.

The following affiliate agencies will be available to discuss their roles in the task force: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Child Exploitation Investigative Groups from Long Beach and Orange County, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and Fontana Police Department.
