Goals, Initiatives and Strategies for 2013
Topanga Area reached yet another milestone in 2012 when, despite having achieved significant reduction in crime in 2011, we continued to reduce crime. This demonstrates that established systems, procedures and protocols continued to be effective. Reliance on established systems was not absolute, as the personnel were allowed flexibility and allowed to adapt their approach in order to appropriately respond to the diverse and unpredictable law enforcement problems and issues faced by a large metropolitan police department. Eventually, the most important component to our success continues to be the steadfast and dedicated service of our employees. Their contributions have been nothing short of miraculous.
Going into 2013, our goals will rely on thoughtful analysis, strategies and measures of effectiveness, with minor modifications and readjustments to polish and fine tune our crime fighting efforts.
Goals for 2013:
- Commitment to Constitutional Policing
- Crime Reduction and Community Engagement
- Preparation for, Prevention of, and Response to Catastrophic and Terrorist events
- Community Engagement
- Employee Wellness
- Maintaining the Personnel Strength of the Department
