Detectives Seek Publics Help for Unsolved Homicide

Los Angeles: West Valley Area Homicide Detectives have highlighted an unsolved homicide and are asking for any information the public may have that will help solve the case:

  • On September 29, 2002, in Woodland Hills, 32-year-old Dana Sherman and his brother, Daniel Dickerson was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his friend Kijana Foster. At about 2:00 a.m., Foster was driving on Canoga Avenue at Califa Street when a 2002 white Cadillac Escalade drove alongside of him. The passenger of the Escalade began shooting and killed Sherman who was seated in the back seat. The suspects were described as a male Black and a male Hispanic.

  • On April 25, 2003, a male Black driving a 2003 black Lincoln Navigator was engaged in a gun battle with an unidentified motorist in an unknown vehicle in the 17000 block of Ventura Boulevard. After the shooting, the suspect in the Navigator drove on to the Ventura freeway and threw his handgun out the window. Officers that responded to the crime scene recovered the handgun. Ballistic testing conducted by the Scientific Investigation Firearms Unit, revealed that the handgun used by the suspect in the Navigator was the same handgun used to murder Dana Sherman.
