Sexual Predator Wanted

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate and apprehend a sexual predator who is a fugitive from justice.

On June 15, 2006, Ramon Eduardo Rodas Gaspar was booked for three felony counts of sexual assault. At the time, Gaspar was a certified nursing assistant at the Tarzana Medical Center in Encino. Gaspar was charged with sexually assaulting his female patients after surgery while they were still under the influence of anesthesia and consequently vulnerable. His victims ranged in ages from 29 to 64.

After the arrest, a press release (July 7, 2006) was published in an effort to locate additional victims. In response to the press release, several other women came forth and contacted police.

Based on this information, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed seven additional felony counts against Gaspar. Upon learning about the additional charges, Gaspar who was out on bail, skipped bail and suddenly disappeared with his wife and toddler son, leaving behind two other children, family members and a home in Canoga Park. The bank subsequently forfeited his home, and Gaspar later took out a second mortgage in order to pay his bail.

Gaspar was born in Guatemala, but is an American citizen. He has family in Northern California as well as Colorado. His wife has family living in Mexico.

Gaspar may currently be working as a masseuse, or he may be employed at a low-income women’s medical clinic that may be unaware of his certification status. Either way, the fear is that Gaspar may still have access to women whom he can victimize.
