LAPD Captain John Egan, West Valley Area Commanding Officer
LAPD Captain John Romero, Mission Patrol Commanding Officer
LAPD Volunteer and Community Member, Monica Harmon
West Valley Area / Mission Area Community Relations Officers

WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department, Operations-Valley Bureau will be hosting a community meeting designed to provide young adults and their parents with information about the hot topic of bullying and how it can be addressed and combated.  Topics will include anti-bullying tactics for school and other places where students often encounter it.  Topics will also include Cyber bullying with a focus on cell phones, and other social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter and My Space.     

Guest speakers will include, Police Commissioner Alan Skobin, Deputy District Attorney  Marc Beaart, LAUSD Coordinator Judy Chiasson and the main facilitator Monica Harmon.  Monica Harmon is an active LAPD community member and LAPD’s 2009 Volunteer of the Year.
