Health Net To Host 20th Annual Celebration Of Children NR11273mjf

Holiday event has brought joy to approximately 25,000
underprivileged children through the years

WHAT:
More than 300 children will gather for the 20th Annual Celebration of Children. The event is hosted by Health Net, Inc. The children will enjoy a “winter wonderland,” including a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, games, arts and crafts, karaoke, face painting and presents for each child.

WHO:
Health Net and 10 child service organizations in Los Angeles County, including the LAPD Hollenbeck PAL Program. Health Net employees participate in the event by dressing up as costumed characters, volunteering at the party and donating toys for the children (ages 4-11).

WHEN:
Sunday, December 11, 2011, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

WHERE:
Warner Center Marriot
21850 Oxnard Street
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

WHY:
It’s a tradition for Health Net associates to forgo a company holiday party and instead donate their time and gifts to host the Celebration of Children event. Health Net is celebrating the 20th annual Celebration of Children, which has impacted approximately 25,000 underprivileged children nationwide in its 20-year span. For many of the children, it may be the only holiday celebration they experience this season. Health Net works with local child service organizations and hopes the event will provide a welcome diversion for local children at the holiday season.

VISUALS:
Live remotes and interview opportunities with Health Net volunteer staff available after 6 a.m. Participating children will arrive and be available after 9:30 a.m.

Venue will be decorated as a beautiful “winter wonderland” and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance. There will be Health Net volunteers and more than 300 children present. Children will be doing arts and crafts, playing games, getting their faces painted and each child will be able to sit on Santa’s lap.
