Police Seek Witnesses to Fatal Train Traffic Collision NR12122gb

Los Angele:  LAPD Valley Traffic Division (VTD) detectives are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a fatal train traffic accident in which a male pedestrian was instantly killed.

Today, around 9:15 a.m., A Metrolink train conductor saw a male that appeared to be sitting on the train tracks north of Raymer Street and east of Sepulveda Boulevard in Van Nuys.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts to get the pedestrian attention by utilizing the train horn, the train went into an emergency stop but still collided with the pedestrian. Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
