24-Year-Old Man Fatally Injured by Hit and Run Driver NR14019gbNorthridge: Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver responsible for this hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man.
On January 15, 2014 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a three vehicle traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Balboa Boulevard in the Northridge area of the San Fernando Valley.
The suspect’s vehicle, a 2001 Ford Ranger pick-up truck, tan in color, was traveling westbound Parthenia Street and collided with a 1993 Ford Escort, grey in color, driven by Robert Ramage, a resident of Northridge. The Ford Escort was traveling southbound Balboa Boulevard. The impact between the vehicles caused the victim to become ejected from his vehicle and he was found lying in the roadway. The suspect’s vehicle continued northbound in the southbound lanes of Balboa Boulevard and collided with a vehicle parked southbound Balboa Boulevard at the west curb.
The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel for medical treatment. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the pick-up truck fled the collision without identifying himself. The driver was described as a male white, 25-30 years of age. He stands about six feet to six feet three inches tall and weighs about 230 to 280 pounds.
