Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division officers are seeking public assistance in locating a missing youth.

Yesterday around 5:20 p.m., officers were summoned to the 13100 block of Paxton Street to investigate the disappearance of 13-year-old Juan Miranda from his family residence.  Apparently, Miranda was despondent over the recent death of his grandfather and had an argument with his mother.  He then left his residence and has not been seen since.

Miranda is described as a male Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes.  He stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, gray tennis shoes and a gray baseball cap.  He also has a scar on his right palm.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Juan Miranda is urged to contact LAPD’s Foothill Division at (818) 756-8861. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.
