What:
LAPD Baseball Team's "Best Bat In The Valley Finals"
Competitors will have to bat a round of 25 pitches with scores based on points for balls hit in designated locations in the batting cage. There are 8 different age categories; 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-20, 21-29, 30 & over, 40 & over.

Why:
The Best Bat In The Valley batting competition is hosted by the LAPD Baseball Team, sworn police officers who play competitive, charity baseball.  The event promotes friendly, fun, physical and competitive batting challenges for baseball players of all ages. The players come from  and represent neighborhoods from across the San Fernando Valley.  The finalists competed all last week and produced the top scores in their age categories to advance to the finals. Only the top performers survived and now will battle for the title of "Best Bat In The Valley"

Prizes awarded for each age category;

  • 1st place; Baseball Bat & Title
  • 2nd place; Baseball Bat Bag
  • 3rd place; Baseball Batting Gloves

Additional prize drawings for the public including, Dodger tickets for next season, Oakley Baseball Glasses, Bicycles, Baseball Equipment and more.  LAPD's Finest Baseball Team players along with Sherman Oaks Castle Batting Cages staff will be on hand to judge the competitors to determine who has the best bat in the Valley.  There will also be games and giveaways for kids of all ages.
