October 25, 2016

WHAT: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division host an Anti-Drug and Anti-Bullying Rally.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 26, 2016 9:30 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.

WHERE: Hazeltine Elementary School 7150 Hazeltine Avenue Van Nuys, CA 91405

WHO: LAPD Baseball Team Members Van Nuys Division Officers and Host Volunteers

WHY: This event is presented to the Hazeltine Elementary School as an acknowledgement of their efforts in adopting our “Just Say No” pledge campaign at their school. Seven hundred twenty-six students have written pledges about the importance of saying no to drugs, gangs, crime, and bullying.

Every day during the month of October 800 students recite the “Just Say No” pledge during their morning PA announcements.

LAPD officers will perform their “Just Say No” rap song around 10:45 a.m.

This rally promotes positive interaction between students, community members, and police officers. Police officers and community mentors would like to send a message of empowerment that will impact the lives of the youth by brightening their future, and help guide them away from the statistics of their community.
