Sexual Assault Suspect in Custody NR17287ml

Van Nuys: On September 28, 2017 at about 5:10 p.m., Van Nuys Area responded to call for of a rape suspect in the 1500 block of Sherman Way in Van Nuys.

Mateo Saucedo, 32-year old, was located and arrested after being identified by a victim as the person who tried to rape her.

On September 27, 2017 at 9:30 p.m., victim-1 had parked her vehicle on Matilija Avenue north of Victory Boulevard when Saucedo approached the victim and attempted to sexually assault her.

On September 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m., victim-2 observed Saucedo loitering in the 1500 block of Sherman Way in Van Nuys, when Saucedo approached the victim and attempted to rape her.


Detectives have provided Mateo Saucedo photo in case there may be additional victims of other unreported incidents and are asking for the public's assistance in locating them.

This case was presented to District who filed 2 counts of attempted rape. Bail set $210,000.00.
