Man Found Stabbed to Death

Los Angeles: A 50-year-old man was stabbed while standing in line at a food distribution center on July 1, 2009.

At around 9:05 a.m., as a result of an ambulance call related to a stabbing, a patrol unit was dispatched to Vista Del Mar Street and Carlos Avenue.  At the location, officers found a victim, unconscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds.  The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

A passerby flagged down a responding patrol unit, and pointed at a man who allegedly stabbed the victim.  The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Rodrigo Sosa, was taken into custody a couple of blocks away from the crime scene.  According to detectives, Sosa was still holding the bloody knife in his hands.  He dropped the knife and was taken into custody without incident.

An argument between the victim and Sosa may have led to the stabbing.  Sosa was booked for murder and is being held without bail.
