Residential Burglaries in Koreatown NR09527gbLos Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is asking for the public's help for any information leading to the arrest of a crew of burglary suspects targeting residences in Koreatown.
On October 19, 2009 at around 12:00 p.m., three male suspects entered an apartment complex in the 400 block of South Virgil Avenue by waiting for a resident to open the garage gate. Once the gate was open, the suspects followed residents into the complex. The thieves then knocked on apartment doors to locate an unoccupied unit. These thieves enter unoccupied units through a window, ransack inside and take property.
On the same date, between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., three male suspects entered an apartment complex in the 400 block of Shatto Place by the same method. These three suspects entered an unoccupied unit through a window and ransacked the unit and took property. It is believed that these suspects have been responsible for a series of Burglaries within the Olympic Area.
The suspect number one is described as a male Hispanic about 16 to 20 years old; he has black hair and was last wearing Black t-shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and black backpack. He is about 5 feet and 8 inches tall; weight is between 140 to 160 pounds.
The suspect number two is described as a male Black about 16 to 20 years old; he has black hair and wearing a black hooded jacket, red shorts and red shoes. Height is about 5 feet 8 inches and weight is about 140 pounds to 160 pounds.
The suspect number three is described as a male black, between 16 to 20 years of age. He has black hair and was wearing a black t-shirt, grey jeans, black shoes and a gold chain.
The images of the suspects have been seen on security cameras in two different complexes. Residents are encouraged to maintain vigilance in securing their apartment units and to be wary of strangers who do not belong at the location.
