"Housekeeper Arrested for Theft"

West Los Angeles – West Los Angeles Area Detectives conducted an investigation that resulted with the arrest of Socorro Membreno on Tuesday, February 29, 2000 for grand theft. The investigation revealed that Membrano, a forty-eight year old resident of Los Angeles who was employed by Sharon Stone as a housekeeper, had taken jewelry, clothing and personal items valued at approximately $300,000 from Stone and Chaos Productions. All of the property was recovered. Efforts are being made to determine if additional property was taken. Membrano was booked at Van Nuys Jail and later was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office with one count of grand theft. Bail was set at $300,000.
