"Weekend Crosswalk Enforcement in West Los Angeles Area"

West Los Angeles - On Saturday, April 1, 2000, from 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., uniformed and plain clothes officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division will be in the area of Pico Boulevard and Military Avenue conducting pedestrian crosswalk safety education and enforcement.

Captain Paul M. Kim, Commanding Officer of West Traffic Division said, "The crosswalk at Pico Boulevard and Military Avenue was chosen for this task force in an effort to reduce pedestrian related traffic collisions caused by errant pedestrians and drivers."

The media is invited to broadcast from the task force location, and uniformed officers will be available for interviews.
