Detectives Seeking Public's Help in Solving Murder

Los Angeles: Detectives are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect(s) who gunned down a man on Saturday night.

On April 21, 2007, at around 11:30 p.m., officers received a radio call of an Assault With a Deadly Weapon in front of a 7-11 store in the 1400 block of Westwood Boulevard.

Once there, officers found the victim, Carvell Baker, a 35-year-old black man lying on his left side with a gun shot wound to the back of his head. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Los Angeles Homicide Detective Ben Macias or Tony Umansky at 310-444-1580. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
