Why:
All proceeds benefit the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, which financially assists LAPD family members experiencing catastrophic circumstances resulting from injury or death.  Since its inception in 1972, the Foundation has granted more than $10 million for medical, funeral, and educational expenses.

Celebrity participants include: Carlos Arazaqui, Jonathan Banks, Jose Canseco, David Carpenter, Bobby Castillo, Kyle Chandler, Mac Davis, Chad Everett, Dennis Franz, Don Felder, Ken Howard, C. Thomas Howell, Alex-Hyde White, Anne-Marie Johnson, Mickey Jones, Ken Landreaux, Ron Masak, Neal McDonough, Mark Moses, Jack Nicholson, Tom Ohmer, David Paich, Joe Pesci, Rogie Vachon, Paula Trickey, and many more.

Media is required to sign in at the media registration table located past main entrance.  Parking for public and media will be across from golf course at Fox Movie Studios.  Host Miguel Ferrer and Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton will be available for media interviews and photo opportunities at the opening ceremony.  Celebrities will be available for media throughout the day.

The opening ceremony will honor fallen LAPD officers that will include missing man fly over formation by LAPD’s Air Support airships.  Members of the LAPD Swat Team and Family Support Group will present ceremonial golf ball to Miguel Ferrer.  More than just a golf tournament, this family event features added attractions including LAPD displays such as Air Support helicopters, Bomb Squad vehicles, mobile museum, and Equestrian Unit.
