Antique Jewelry Stolen; Two Robbers Sought NR10362rh

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) are asking the public to help them identify two men responsible for a couple of robberies in the West Los Angeles area.

The first robbery happened on May 4, 2010 at 9:30 a.m., in the 9000 block of West Pico Boulevard when two suspects walked into an antique store, ordered the store employee to the floor and stole a large amount of antique jewelry.  The suspects ran away from the store and the victim was not injured during the robbery.

The second robbery happened on July 4, 2010 at12:15 p.m., when investigators say the pair walked into the front door of an antique store located in the 2000 block of South Robertson Boulevard.  Once inside, the two men posed as customers then bound and forced a store employee to the floor and took a large amount of money and antique jewelry.  The victim was not injured during the robbery.

The weapon used for both robberies was a black revolver.

One suspect is described as an African American male who is 20-25 years old.  He has black hair, brown eyes and a medium skin tone.  He stood 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed about 200 pounds.  He was mild mannered and well spoken.

The other suspect is described as an African American or Hispanic male who is also 20-25 years old.  He had black hair and brown eyes, stood 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighed about 150 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a dark-gray shirt and dark jeans.

Surveillance footage shows the two suspects walking in the vicinity of the store. The footage is available at www.lapdtv.org.  The sketch of the suspects are attached to the news release.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is encouraged to contact LAPD West Los Angeles detectives at 310-444-1529.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).
